Perceptual Psychology
Welcome to the website of Perceptual Psychology!
In the perceptual psychology lab, we investigate how humans see, hear, smell or perceive their own bodies.
We are interested in the fundamental principles of how people process external and internal stimuli into subjective perceptions of their environment or their body.
We also investigate the neural basis of perception, i.e. the question of how our brain represents and processes stimuli in different sensory modalities. One research focus is on multisensory perception: How do humans combine sensory stimuli from different sensory modalities to form a coherent perception of the environment? How does our brain integrate stimuli that are initially processed in independent sensory channels and brain regions? You can find out more about our research here.
